Learn what to expect, how the process works, and how Clover Conceptions supports you from start to finish here.
Are there any side effects by becoming a surrogate?
The side effects are similar to those you may have experienced in your own pregnancy — including mild symptoms related to hormonal changes. Our experienced medical team and coordinators will ensure you receive personalized support throughout your journey.
I got my tubes tied. Will I be able to become a surrogate?
Yes! Since your own eggs are not used in gestational surrogacy, having your tubes tied does not prevent you from carrying a baby. The embryo is created through IVF using the intended parents’ or donors’ eggs and sperm.
Will I receive a compensation?
Absolutely. Surrogates are generously compensated for their incredible contribution. Compensation typically ranges from $45,000 to $115,000, depending on experience and location. Additional allowances for maternity clothing, travel, and other expenses are also provided.
Will my BMI (Body Mass Index) disqualifies me?
Our agency requires a BMI of 30 or below to ensure the best possible health outcomes for both the surrogate and baby. However, we understand that everyone’s journey is unique — if your current BMI is up to 32 and you’re actively working toward a healthy goal of bringing it below 30, we encourage you to apply. We’ll review each case individually with care and understanding.
Will I be genetically related to the baby?
In gestational surrogacy, you will not be genetically related to the baby. The embryo is created using the intended parents’ or donors’ eggs and sperm. (In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate’s own egg is used, but Clover Conceptions works exclusively with gestational surrogacy.
How long does it take to become a surrogate?
The full surrogacy journey typically takes 12 to 24 months, depending on medical, legal, and matching timelines. Our team will keep you informed and supported every step of the way.
Do I need to have the insurance that covers the surrogacy?
No. If your current health insurance doesn’t cover surrogate pregnancy, the intended parents will purchase an appropriate policy for you.
Do I have to pay for anything?
No. All surrogacy-related expenses are fully covered or reimbursed by the intended parents — including medical costs, travel, and any additional approved needs.
Will I get to choose the family I carry for?
Yes — matching is a transparent and mutual process. At Clover Conceptions, both you and the intended parents will have the opportunity to get to know each other before moving forward. We believe in honest communication and mutual respect. Every match should feel right for everyone involved — because this journey is built on trust, connection, and love.
Can I become a surrogate if I’ve only had one child?
Yes, as long as you’ve had at least one full-term, uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery.
What happens if I get pregnant with multiples?
In the event of twins or more, you will receive additional compensation. Our medical team will carefully monitor your health and ensure all necessary care is provided.
Can I continue working during my surrogacy?
In most cases, yes. Many surrogates continue their regular jobs throughout much of the pregnancy, as long as their work is not physically demanding. Your doctor and agency coordinator will guide you on what’s best for your health.
Can I have contact with the family after birth?
Yes — if both you and the intended parents wish to stay in touch, many families continue to share updates and build lifelong friendships after delivery.
What kind of support will I receive?
You’ll have a dedicated case manager, 24/7 support, counseling services, and all travel and medical arrangements handled by our team. We’ll be with you every step of the way — from screening to delivery.
What if I have a medical complication during pregnancy?
All medical expenses and insurance coverage are fully provided by the intended parents, so you’re financially protected throughout your pregnancy.
Egg Donors
A generous gift that brings hope, life, and new beginnings.
Becoming an egg donor is one of the most selfless and life-changing gifts you can give. At Clover Conceptions, we believe every donation is a story of love, hope, and connection — a chance to help someone complete their family. As an egg donor, you’re not just giving cells; you’re giving the possibility of a lifetime of joy. Our caring team will guide you through each step with compassion, transparency, and full support to ensure your journey is meaningful, safe, and rewarding for both you and the family you’re helping.
Does the egg donation process hurt?
No, the egg donation process will not hurt you. However, the hormonal injections can be uncomfortable, and the hormones can cause some mild PMS-like symptoms. These injections are only required during cycle-usually 7-10 days. During retrieval you will be provided with general anesthesia to minimize any discomfort you may have. The retrieval process will last about 20 minutes. The retrieval is minimally invasive and done vaginally, with no incisions. After the retrieval you will be kept in a recovery room for a short time while the anesthesia wears off. Then you will be able to resume normal activities on the following day.
How much time is needed for the process?
The egg donation process will take 30 to 60 days after being matched. During this time, you will be working with a few different professionals. They include geneticists, endocrinologists, healthcare professionals and attorneys. There are also instances where you need to work with a psychologist.
Are there any risks in becoming an egg donor?
There are no serious side effects of becoming an egg donor. However, some women may have experienced short-term side effects. OHSS(Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome) is a potential yet rare risk that can happen with egg donation. It is non-life threatening and occurs when the body produces an exaggerated response to excess hormones.
Why should I consider becoming an egg donor?
Becoming an egg donor is a deeply meaningful way to help someone fulfill their dream of becoming a parent. Your donation can give hope to families struggling with infertility, same-sex couples, and individuals who wish to experience the joy of having a child. At Clover Conceptions, we honor your compassion and guide you with care through every step of this extraordinary journey.
Will I be compensated for donating my eggs?
Yes. Egg donors receive generous compensation ranging from $8,000 to $20,000+ depending on experience, location, and prior successful donations. This amount reflects the time, commitment, and care you dedicate to the process — as well as the profound gift you’re giving to another family.
Will donating my eggs affect my future fertility?
No. The egg donation process does not affect your ability to have children in the future. Only a small portion of your available eggs are retrieved, and your body naturally produces new eggs each cycle.
Will I be genetically related to the baby?
Yes — biologically, the baby will carry your genetic material. However, you will not have parental rights or responsibilities. You’re providing the precious gift of life so intended parents can build their own family.
Do I get to choose the family I donate to?
Yes. At Clover Conceptions, transparency and choice are at the heart of what we do. Both donors and intended parents are part of the matching process. You’ll have the opportunity to understand who you’re helping, and both sides must feel comfortable before moving forward.
Will my identity remain confidential?
Yes, your privacy is always respected. You may choose to donate anonymously or as an open donor — depending on what feels right for you and the intended parents. We honor every decision with sensitivity and transparency.
Intended Parents
Guiding you every step of the way to help complete your family.
Becoming a parent through surrogacy or egg donation is a deeply personal and emotional journey — one filled with hope, anticipation, and love. At Clover Conceptions, we understand how much this dream means to you. Our dedicated team is here to walk beside you through every step of the process, providing clarity, compassion, and expert care. Whether you’re beginning your first cycle or continuing to grow your family, we’ll ensure your path to parenthood is as smooth, transparent, and joyful as possible.
How do I begin the surrogacy or egg donation process?
Your journey begins with a private consultation with our team. We’ll take time to understand your story, goals, and preferences, then guide you through each step — from choosing the right surrogate or donor, to understanding timelines, costs, and medical details. Once you’re ready, we’ll begin the matching process to find your perfect fit.
How long does the process take?
The timeline can vary depending on the matching and medical process. On average, it may take 12 to 18 months from the time you begin until your baby arrives. Our team will keep you informed with frequent updates throughout each stage so you always know what to expect.
How are surrogates and egg donors screened?
We take screening very seriously to ensure safety and compatibility. Every surrogate and donor goes through a detailed medical, psychological, and background evaluation, as well as genetic and lifestyle assessments. Many of our surrogates and donors are motivated by compassion — they’re women who want to help others experience the joy of parenthood.
Can I choose my surrogate or egg donor?
Absolutely. At Clover Conceptions, matching is a transparent and mutual process. You’ll have the opportunity to review detailed profiles, meet potential surrogates or donors, and only proceed when both sides feel comfortable and connected.
What happens once I’m matched?
After a match is confirmed, we’ll coordinate medical evaluations, psychological screenings, and the legal process. Once the embryo transfer is scheduled, our team stays closely involved — providing updates, support, and guidance from beginning to birth and beyond.
What kind of support will I receive?
We believe family-building should feel personal and supported. Our coordinators, medical liaisons, and travel specialists are here for you 24/7. You’ll receive regular updates, emotional support, and professional guidance every step of the way — even after your baby is born.
At Clover Conceptions, we are honored to guide you with compassion and transparency as you take each step toward completing your family.
